4 weeks old

Four weeks old, and the pups have come to life.  Over the weekend, they make amazing gains in coordination, and became much more engaging and interactive.  My midday care person Nancy could hardly believe the changes from Friday to Monday.  Puppy weights ranged from 4 lbs 10 oz (Tahoe) to 5 lbs 4 oz (Gilroy).  Pups are nursing from the standing position and getting 3 meals of soaked kibble per day fed individual meals to make sure everyone is getting the proper amount.  Since the big pups are much stronger nursers, we still make sure the smaller pups get some private nursing.  Even more important with such a big litter.  Yoko is still enjoying 10 cups of high calorie kibble per day.  The pups are doing a very good job using the litter box and keeping a clean pen.  There are getting more playtime outside of the pen (in the house or outside).
